Tye Pearce hails from a family of licensed electrical contractors.
After working for others as a journeyman electrician for seven years, he decided to secure his master license. He passed the exam and began working towards starting his own electrical contracting business.
A banker referred Tye to the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Arkansas State University for guidance. Director Laura Miller provided information about the startup process as well as market research.
Pearce credits the assistance from the A-State ASBTDC with helping him secure financing and get started.
“Ms. Laura Miller and the ASBTDC program and literature helped me tremendously through the process of building and submitting a business plan for a business providing a service, something I was previously unfamiliar with, as well as provided me with great market analysis for similar businesses, giving me a better understanding of the industry’s income and expenses,” he said.
Pearce launched his company, Green Tree Electric LLC, in November 2022.
From his shop in Sulphur Rock, Tye provides installation and service of residential and commercial electrical systems. He is building a customer base across Northeast and North Central Arkansas, focusing on new residential construction, remodeling projects, and service to commercial buildings.
