A new series of small business workshops and consulting sessions kicks off in Searcy this month.
The series is led by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center and hosted by the Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce and Harding University’s Waldron Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Business.
Three workshops plus monthly consulting days will give current and potential business owners the opportunity – free of charge – to learn about starting, managing, and growing a business.
The first workshop, “Recordkeeping Essentials: Your Roadmap to Financial Clarity,” is 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at the chamber.
This class will offer quick and easy tools for financial management, discuss bookkeeping software options, and demystify the numbers found on the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
ASBTDC’s Wendy Orvis will conduct the workshop, then be available until 4 p.m. to consult one-on-one with business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
During consulting hours, Orvis can provide confidential guidance on a range of topics, such as business planning, financial analysis, funding options, growth and expansion, marketing, and profitability.
Additional dates and locations for the series:
Aug. 15 – Consulting hours at the chamber, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sept. 25 – “How to Write a Business Plan” workshop at the chamber, followed by consulting hours until 4 p.m.
