The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center congratulates Lynette West, the 2024 Arkansas Small Business Person of the Year.
West owns and operates HealthWear Inc. in Jonesboro. The business sells medical uniforms and accessories through its store on Red Wolf Boulevard and online.
Lynette had owned a stake of HealthWear for 10 years when she and her husband, Kent, took sole ownership of the business in 2023.
The couple worked with Laura Miller of the Arkansas State University ASBTDC during the acquisition, continuing a long consulting relationship with Miller and the center.
Lynette has also participated in several ASBTDC educational events and is a graduate of the Small Business Administration’s Emerging Leaders program.
“I have been blessed to work with the local ASBTDC, especially Laura, from the original conception of the business. The services they provide are priceless, and that they provide them for free is amazing,” she said.
“They have provided me market research, classes both online and in person, assistance with my business plan, and have significantly helped me to grow my business. Laura is always available to answer any questions I have, and I highly recommend that any small business utilize their services.”
